I just started participating in yoga.  Admittedly, Being new and inexperienced compared to the majority of participants makes mastering the series of awkward, yet relaxing, stretches and positions even more of a challenging than the task would be on its own. However, I have continued to push myself into this new and unfamiliar territory weekly in order to improve my quality of life - mind, body and spirit.

You may be asking yourself what in the world my yoga experience has to do with your Association, Chamber of Commerce or whatever organization for which you may work.

Well, question no more.

Every class, we each start off selecting an intention for our session. We reflect on ourselves, reflect on our strengths and reflect on the areas in our lives in which we want to improve upon.  Beyond this, we set an intention for someone else in our lives as well.

I woke up this Monday morning and found myself setting an intention for my work day, as well as setting a positive intention for the clients that WebLink serves.  I am challenging you to do the same.

With the start of a new week set an intention for your day.  Ask yourself what your organization is doing well and how it can improve. Once areas of improvement are identified, work with your team members to set future intentions and goals to better these specific areas.  The important thing to remember is that you are always setting goals and making decisions with the intent to better the benefits and experiences of your members. In other words, set an intent to help your members more successfully achieve the intentions that they set for themselves and who they serve.

What can you and your team achieve this seek? I challenge you to join me in setting a daily intention. Reflect the good and the bad, and strive to make educated decisions.  Set SMART goals, collaborate with team members and always operate with your members in the forefront of your mind.
