We often get questions from chambers of commerce and business associations about how they can create an effective email newsletter. And our clients are really great about sharing their newsletters with others so everyone can learn and communicate more effectively. Some chambers are even learning to “steal” ideas from the for-profit world, too!
Check out Marketing Sherpa’s 2008 Email Awards Gallery. There are loads of samples to learn from here, broken into several categories, including:
- Tests you learned from
- Email Opt-in Campaigns
- Single Welcome Letter
- Email Newsletters for Marketing Purposes
Take some time and review these communications. Yes, most of them are from for-profit companies, but you can take way great ideas for communicating with your members.
As we’ve discussed before, the way you manage your relationships with email can have a significant impact on your members’ satisfaction levels and ultimately, your member retention rates. So, go out there and steal some ideas! (Oh, and share your newsletters with me, too, at curt.moss@weblinkinternational.com. I’d love to see what you’re doing.)
